Wooden House Bali

House / May 29, 2017

We had five beautiful days at Lucy’s place but one thing she doesn’t have is a guide the area to orientate yourself, so let us try to do that for you. We had an AMAZING stay – the house consists of three villas around a beautiful pool, with a shared outdoor kitchen and dining area. You share the space with the owner (Lucy) who lives in one of the villas. The photos are accurate and in fact don’t do the property justice. Lucy has furnished the whole place beautifully, with lots of loving touches. It’s like living in someone’s luxury pad. The wifi was very fast, the shower pressure good, the bed extremely comfortable, and the furnishings high quality. The housekeeper (Putu) is around to help with any queries, arrange massages, fetch dinner and, if you ask nicely, even cook you some nasi goreng! Lucy is extremely hospitable and really made an effort to make us feel welcome and part of her home. She offered us fruit and gave us useful tourist advice. Water, tea and coffee are all available in the kitchen. We highly recommend getting the masseuse to visit you in your villa, she is excellent and very well priced (100K Rp), providing full body massage, pedicure, manicure. Essentially a mobile beauty salon. You’ll find yourself wanting to book her every day. The location was initially off putting because it is in a residential area far from the beach. If you’re just getting to Bali you might feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Actually you’re on the main road to Uluwatu, so ideally situated to get to Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Kutu, and a variety of other locations. Ubers are really easy to get and most tourist attractions are only about 20K-40K rupiahs and 30 mins away. Also try the local version of Uber called Grab. The location is really convenient for food shopping and has a variety of local restaurants. Essentials can be bought from the local shop just down the road outside the house (Gang Mecutan VII) and for more complex shopping, or alcohol, there are a myriad of local shops up and down Raya Uluwatu (the main road Uluwatu, so ideally situated to get to Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Kutu, and a variety of other locations. We recommend taking a left at the end of Garung Macutan, and going 50m to the large local supermarket. You’ve got a bunch of eating options on Raya Uluwatu, if you’re completely unadventurous...
